Here is the solution:

1) Install kernel-devel and kernel-netbook-devel packages

sudo zypper install kernel-netbook-devel
2) Follow http://forum.meego.com/showpost.php?…8&postcount=20 and install the samsung-backlight.ko kernel driver

3) Install the latest udev packages from MeeGo trunk. Install the follwowing to be specific:

http://mirrors4.kernel.org/meego/bui…-5.14.i586.rpm

http://ftp-chi.osuosl.org/pub/meego/…-5.14.i586.rpm

http://mirrors1.kernel.org/meego/bui…-5.14.i586.rpm

http://ftp-nyc.osuosl.org/pub/meego/…-5.14.i586.rpm

http://repo.meego.com/MeeGo/builds/t…2-1.3.i586.rpm

4) Open /boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf file. Add ‘acpi_backlight=vendor’ as a kernel parameter.

Restart. The key-bindings should work now.
